This project is a new extension of the existing museum in Helsinki Finland. The first idea is to create a cloud above the museum. Besides, the idea is also to connecting to existing museum and making unique experiences for users, especially to helpvisitors easy to interact between the existing museum and the new expanding by using the main courtyard. The cloud might help to protect from snow and rain for the old museum that is iconic for the whole city. The advantage of the content isn’t high, so the new extension is lifted without touching to have a view around the city. During reaching the site, the building is created with a rectangular shape and parallel with the main street. In the middle of the shape, there are three different opening areas that are connected with the courtyard and tower bell. With escalator in the courtyard, users are easy to get in the new expanding after visiting the first floor. The structure of the museum is a giant truss to make the construction is stable. Besides, there are four main cores that are set up with a purpose around the existing museum, especially, those cores are also a 2nd circulation of the newly expanding. While users get into the new extension they will feel the transforming between the old style of the museum and the new. Besides, visitors also are able to see the huge park from the auditorium and the city for coffee area. In conclusion, the flooding building will make a unique experience for visitors such as walking on the cloud while seeing the history of Helsinki Finland.
